To mount this sensor, make two M6 (6mm) threads into the manifold 36mm away (drills on the sensor are dia=6.7mm, allows minimal sloppyness but not much). Allow for connector and wire clearance.
Drill a 12mm diaemeter whole right in the middle, the sensor nipple sits there. Sealed via O-ring (O-ring included on the sensor).
The intake pressure and temperature sensor is normally mounted after the charge cooler. The sensor has 4 pins.The VW number is 038 906 051 and Bosch number 0 281 002 401 (same as 0 281 002 177) for a 66kW and 85KW TDI. Used eg. in the 66kW ALH, AGR and 81kW AHF engines.
- Note that we do NOT have connector for this sensor
- as far as we know range is 20-330 kPa (absolute). But look up according to partnumbers, and do your research. (note: earlier it was believed to be 300 kPa, but RNN says its 330kPa sensor.)
The VEMS packaged 250-300-400kPa pressure sensor is another option (connector and pinout provided, allows several pressure ranges, possibly higher boost). Than NTC or MAT sensor is needed for temperature measurement (all have the same type of NTC type sensing element).
